ACT Venture Partners and Özyeğin University Technology Transfer Office (TTO) co-organized ‘Commercialization 101’ training on the 28th of June for TTO specialists to accelerate the commercialization process of technologies incubated in Turkey.
Nilay Papila (Director of Özyeğin Uni. TTO), Jason Lau (Entrepreneurship Mentor at Özyeğin Uni.), Gülcan Tutkun Berk (Intellectual Property Rights Specialist at Özyeğin Uni. TTO) and Asst. Prof. Bahar Basim (Özyeğin Uni.) delivered lectures about the responsibilities and contribution of TTOs in commercialization process, shared their experience on technical & legal process of technology commercialization and IP rights. Gokhan Guner (Managing Partner at ACT) shared information about ACT’s investment criteria and process flow, and explained the expectations from TTOs, academicians and entrepreneurs during the investment process of VC Funds. He emphasized the role of TTOs in establishing commercial relations between industry players and the academicians.
The training contributed to the strengthening of collaboration between investors and TTOs. ACT continuously collaborates with different actors in the technology ecosystem of Turkey in order to enhance the entrepreneurship culture and understanding about technology commercialization process.
